
David Michael Collins,II died on October 1, 2009, in a motorcycle accident and he was wearing his helmet.
He was born on September 15, 1978 in Lawton, Oklahoma and moved to Lubbock in 1987.
He is survived by his parents, Randy and Kathy Matquis of Wolfforth; father, David Michael Collins of Oklahoma; fiancé, Michelle Stanley of Harker Heights; sister, Mona Scott (Jimmy Hix) of Wolfforth; brother, Gary Collins (Meleah) of Lubbock; step-sister, Melissa Marquis of Eagan, Minnesota; step-brother, Robert Marquis of Deming, N.M.; two step-children, Logan Thomas and Caleb Darden of the home; three nieces, Emily, Kaitlin, and Courtney; three nephews, Corban, Noah, and Randolph Michael, all of Lubbock; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, amd friends.
He was preceeded in death by his grandparents; and uncles, Pete Smith and Bobby Collins, all of Oklahoma.
David was a loving son, companion, brother, uncle, and step-dad. He attended school at Bayless Elementary, Atkins Junior High, and Monterey High School where he was active in soccer, tennis, and band. David also played baseball for Dixie Little League. He had an undying passion for Harley-Davidson Motorcycles and the art of tatooing. David was also a devout fan of the Texas Longhorns and Tony Stewart of NASCAR. He attended church faithfully at Trinity Living Center in Coppers Cove.
David passed away doing what he loved to do more than anything else in the world, just him, two wheels, and God.

Family visitation was held on Sunday, October 4, 2009, in the W.W. Rix Chapel, from 5p.m. - 7p.m.
Funeral services for David were held on Monday, October 5, 2009. at 11 a.m. in the W.W. Rix Chapel.
