Services for Keith Dempsey, 61, of Lubbock will be 2 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 25, 1999, at Sanders Memorial Chapel. Officiating services will be the Rev. Wayne R. Williams, pastor emeritus of Parkway Drive Baptist Church and the Rev. Doyle Patterson, an associate minister of Trinity Church.
Burial will be in Peaceful Gardens Memorial Park under direction of Sanders Funeral Home.
He died Sunday, Aug. 22, 1999, at Covenant Medical Center.
He was born Nov. 19, 1937, in Pilot Point and moved to Lubbock in 1951 from Woodrow. He married Sharon Chadwell on Sept. 24, 1965, in Waco.
He was a charter member of Southcrest Baptist Church, World of Outlaws Sprint Car Association, American Sprint Car Series, South Plains Racing Association, American Motorcycle Association and a charter member of the South Plains Musician Association. He was a truck driver owner and operator.
He was preceded in death by a son, David Dempsey, in November 1973.
Survivors include his wife; three sons, Keith Dempsey, Jr., Guy Dempsey and Bobby Dempsey, all of Lubbock; one daughter, Lanann Dempsey of Lubbock; and five grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at Sanders Funeral Home. |
